Drawing Box for iPad

Anyone can enjoy drawing and painting with Drawing Box. Kids and beginners can have fun with it. Don't need to be an artist to start painting.

The main idea while designing Drawing Box was to create an app with "ready to use" tools. Painting apps users often get lost with the different adjustments of basic tools, such as size, color, saturation, transparency, space, blur effect, blending effect... Drawing Box tools are ready to be used as they are, the users have only to choose the colors and paint. Compared with physical tools, Drawing Box provides permanent clean and sharp tools, the user has only to pick and charge them with the desired colors.

Even the palettes are premixed to give a larger choice of colors. We have noticed that the majority of users, if selecting a color with a wheel (with or without RGB values), finally will take 12 to 20 colors they like. In fact it's hard (impossible ?) to create the theorical millions of colors with a color wheel, even you are a professional.

In Drawing Box we provided 156 premixed colors in 2 palettes:

1) The "round palette": pure colors chosen from the color wheel classification, each color is graded in 3 tones. Specially the grading form black to white has 6 tones. At the end of the palettes the user can select 23 colors used by the famous French impressionists (tubes #56 to #78) in the 19th century.

2) The "square palette": inspired by the pencil colors, arranged by tones.

3) Each palette include 78 colors, each color has a number displayed on the icon for easy reference.

Main features:
- 3 pencil modes: pencil, chalk and inkpen.
- 6 art brushes, each in 6 sizes
- 3 paintrolls, each in 6 sizes
- 3 eraser sizes
- 156 colors in 2 palettes

- Video replay of your paintings

  6. Is there support for this app? I just want to know how to adjust opacity.

  7. @sweetliberty. You cannot adjust the opacity for each brush individually. All brushes a pre-adjusted in size, space and opacity. This is the best balance between simplicity and performance for the majority of users.

We can make the opacity adjustable, but it seems confusing for many users. In fact our different brushes have different fixed opacity. These fixed settings are chosen for the best brush effects.

  8. So if I want a sheer effect against a photo background, what would be my best options? I think the app has amazing potential, but I just find that lack of adjustability difficult for my particular style. I'm sure it will get better with practice, but when using a photo, it would be nice to be able to have some of the natural colors show through.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

  9. @sweetliberty. On the color wheel window you have a color picker (eye dropper). This tool will not take colors from a photo used as background.

But if your photo is imported as "sticker" the color picker works smoothly. You can resize freely your photo-sticker in order to fill the entire canvas.

    Thanks for supporting Drawing Box
